Instream Work Window

Lower Mainland & Fraser Valley

The instream work window for the majority of watercourses within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley opened July 15th for Pacific Salmon, and August 1st for rainbow, steelhead, and cutthroat trout.  Work windows allow us to conduct instream work at a time of year when the least harm to aquatic organisms are likely. Typically, the least risky time for activities is when no fish spawning is happening, and no eggs, alevins, or overwintering juveniles are in the stream. In consideration of BC aquatic species, this least risk window typically falls between August 1 – September 15, under the appropriate permits and approvals. Our team at PLG has been diligently working the past few weeks on some amazing projects. Check out what we’ve been up to!
